I've only been 2 church a few tymes in my life, so many old school folks would consider me a heathen..what many don't consider is that, there are so many ways 2 give praise..I usta have a next door neighbor named Oweeda, she was a black french woman and was around my mothers age, lived 2 go 2 church every Sunday..but every Friday nite she'd ring my bell..and say child not chile', lemme show you the hat I got 4 service this Sunday..it became a ritual..(now she knew whoever was sitting behind her could'nt see not a dam thang..she had 2..lol) , one day I was blasting 2PAC "Shed So Many Tears"...and she started banging on the wall (we lived in townhomes) I was like, damm..she's gonna complain..about 1 minute later the phone rang with Oweeda the the other end..she said.."Turn that UP, THATS MY JAM!! This lady turned out 2 be my guuurl...I left 4 a weekend trip, came back rang her bell, only 2 find in the 2 days i'd been gone..she'd died from an brain anurism...when I saw these hats I immediately thought of her...shouts 2 you .Church Lady, I bet you're blocking some1's view of the angels 2day!!

Stagecoach Mary...What's REALLY GANGSTA?

A couple years ago, my Mother got a African American Women in History book 4 Xmas...I asked her if I could borrow it..she only replied.."Now you know I don't loan MY books out"...OK, .I did know...no problem. Sundays we'd always hook-up and cook @ her house and I'd stretch out on the floor and get lost in this book...I mean it was like it had some power over me and i'd fall asleep reading this book. In school they teach you from a dam near hundred year old slave owners curiculum, that makes no sense in 2days world...oh so..waaaacckkk! Most of the women I read about in this 1 book i'd never even heard of and there were 100's of them...Well as I frequently state: "The things I don't know about could create new UNIVERSES!!"...and it's true!! One woman really stood out, I was laughing while reading her story, and by the ending sentences,I was like yeah, ... "THATS WHAT IM MADE FROM!!"... she went by the name of "Stagecoach Mary" Look I'm a Gansta' Girl...(from wayyy back..lol) (see the meaning of Gangta' Girl below) so I've got much respect 4 women that independently get theirs..don't get me wrong, we will all need help @ different moments in lifes journey..but If led 2 the h2o..then, "WE" as "WOMEN".should have the capable mind, 2 quench our own dam thirst! Her story is hilarious..but hellava!! Stagecoach Mary was born a slave in Tennessee in 1832, this tall, powerfully built African American woman was ambitious, daring and liked a good fight. Mary was a pistol-packing, hard-drinking woman, who needed nobody to fight her battles for her. When turned away from the mission because of her behavior, the nuns financed her in her own business. She opened a cafe. Mary's big heart drove her business into the ground several times because she would feed the hungry. In 1895 she found a job that suited her, as a U.S. mail coach driver for the Cascade County region of central Montana. She and her mule Moses, never missed a day, and it was in this capacity that she earned her nickname of "Stagecoach", for her unfailing reliability. One day, while on the job, Mary was involved in an insulting dispute with one of the handymen at the school, Mary was'nt taking no bullshit off of any man ever, so.. This situation escalated into a shootout, and Mary Fields was fired from her job. Mary went on to open a restaurant in Cascade, but this was a failure. Again, Mother Amadeus helped Mary to land work as a mail route courier with a route between the Mission School and the town of Cascade. For eight years, Mary drove her stagecoach on the mail route dressed as a man in a man's hat and coat because women were then not allowed 2 do "Men's Work" She also smoked a big cigar and everyone knew her as "Stagecoach Mary." She was the 1st woman 2 work 4 Wells Fargo, DAYYUM!! All I can hear is Tupac in te background saying..."OUTLAW!! OUTLAW!!" hahahahahaha She had no formal education. She was the 1st woman 2 work 4 Wells Fargo, and 2 accomplish this, she had 2 dress as a man because women were not allowed 2 work.....

Men -vs- Women : Beauty & The Brain

WASHINGTON – Beauty is in the brain of the beholder. Go to any museum and there will be men and women admiring paintings and sculpture. But it turns out they are thinking about the sight differently. Men process beauty on the right side of their brains, while women use their whole brain to do the job, researchers report in Tuesday's electronic edition of Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. They even explain it differently. Novelist Margaret Wolfe Hungerford: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Essayist David Hume: "Beauty in things exists merely in the mind which contemplates them." Researchers were surprised by the finding. "It is well known that there are differences between brain activity in women and men in cognitive tasks," said researcher Camilo J. Cela-Conde of the University of Baleares in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. "However, why should this kind of difference appear in the case of appreciation of beauty?" The answer seems to be that when women consider a visual object they link it to language while men concentrate on the spatial aspects of the object, Cela-Conde said in an interview by e-mail. He noted, however, that this doesn't explain why — and how — the human capacity to appreciate beauty evolved. "The differences that we have found might relate to the different social roles that, hypothetically, men and women had during human evolution." he said. The researchers tested 10 men and 10 women, showing them paintings and photos of urban scenes and landscapes, asking them to rate each scene as either "beautiful" or "not beautiful." At the same time the scientists looked at images of the magnetic fields produced by electrical currents in the brains of the men and women. For the first 300 milliseconds, there was no difference between male and female brains, and from 300 to 700 milliseconds activity was greater for objects that were rated as beautiful than for those that were not beautiful. For both sexes the most active region was the parietal lobe that deals with visual perception, spatial orientation and information processing, but it was focused on the right side of the brain in men while both sides participated in women. Emmeline Pankhurst In 1889 Emmeline Pankhurst founded the Womens Franchise League, followed by the Womens Social and Political Union in 1905. She was joined by her daughters Christabel and Sylvia among others in the fight for Women�s Suffrage. Pankhurst�s tactics for drawing attention to the movement led to her being imprisoned several times, and even experienced force-feeding after going on hunger strike several times. She was also instrumental in placing women in men�s jobs during World War 1. She received funding of several thousand pounds from the government to aid her in encouraging employers that women were in fact fit to undertake these jobs. Her efforts finally came to fruition in March 1918, when women over the age of 30 were given the right to vote. Later that same year, women over the age of 21 were given the right to become Members of Parliament, despite the fact they were still unable to vote. It wasn't until 1928 that women were finally given the same voting rights as men in the United Kingdom.
