SUPER NEGRO Cuts Federal Funding 2 Historically Black Colleges

(THE OBAMA ACTION FIGURE) Nothing comes 2 a sleeper but DREAMS... SO KEEP DREAMING ABOUT CHANGE smdh? Anyone awake yet? "I see said the blindman"... is this not the same president who murdered the DC private school voucher program that mainly benefitted black students from DC’s poorest neighborhoods. (his own neighborhood)..If you have'nt continuously seen this MAN fund every billionare company that claims chapter 11, broke, hurt or hurting, with no promises 2 their employees of job security..nor a proposal of CHANGE themselves.. so lets GIVE the RICH gew-gobs of loot and not ask them 2 change a dam thang as far as how they use NOR DISTRIBUTE their fianances...YES WE CAN..UPGRADE THEIR EXPENSE ACCOUNTS! SAME (imagionary) CAUSE ...SAME AFFECT! What will the newly unemployed and non-thinkers, slash co-dependent of abusers give for this unexcusable action by the Obama administration NOW?. Leaders of historically black colleges say they’ll fight a reduction in a federal program they call a financial lifeline at a time of economic distress for the schools and their students. President Barack Obama’s education budget, unveiled Thursday, included major spending increases in many areas — but didn’t include an extra $85 million that black institutions have received annually for the past two years thanks to a 2007 change to the student loan laws. That two-year-old program provided direct funds to federally recognized HBCUs — historically black colleges and universities. Other direct federal support to the schools would increase from $238 million to $250 million, but with the expiration of the HBCU fund the schools effectively would see a $73 million cut. A program supporting Native American tribal colleges would also see decreased funding, while one for institutions serving large numbers of Hispanic students would see an increase from $93 million to $98 million. Education Department officials emphasized that all such institutions stand to gain from other parts of the budget, notably the proposed increase in the maximum Pell Grant for low-income students by $200 — to $5,550.

Harvard Crimson2 Pictures, Images and Photos Harvard Law School's Black Law Student Association (BLSA) and The Hip-Hop Entertainment Law Project (HHELP) are set to host a mini-music seminar next weekend, aimed to help high-risk teens earn jobs within the music industry. Held at Harvard Law School on March 14, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the seminar wass called "The Bizness behind The Business!" This year's panel will included respected music executives, Conrad Dimanche of Bad Boy Records and Tone Capone of Universal Motown; a nationally recognized independent artist, Adrian "607" Tillman; and an experienced juvenile re-entry associate, Najja Campbell of The Learning Club of Toledo. The participating panelists will discuss the importance of staying in school, staying out of trouble, and how to pursue a career in the music business, in addition to a short question and answer session. The event was part of BLSA's 26th Annual Spring Conference, which is dubbed "The Fierce Urgency of Now: Effecting Change at Home and Across the Globe," taking place March 13 - March 15. The Conference will feature several notable speakers such as New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin, Donna Brazile, and Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie. The HLS BLSA chapter is the largest BLSA Chapter in the nation. It exists for the support, guidance and direction of Black students in academic, professional and social endeavors. The HHELP was created to combat the devastating effects the School to Prison Pipeline has on inner-city youth. It uses the music industry and hip-hop music to motivate students in school. It was also created to give minority law students the opportunity to pursue careers in the music industry
