A poll carried out by 20th Century Fox Home
Entertainment found that men tell six fibs
per day, with their partners, bosses and work
colleagues most frequently being on the receiving
end of the untruths.
Meanwhile, the survey also discovered that women
are less dishonest, telling three lies per day,
or 68,796 in a lifetime.
According to the Daily Express, the most common
lie among both sexes was: "Nothing's wrong, I'm fine."
The next most popular falsehoods involved
the cost of items, with "Oh, this isn't new,
I've had it for ages", "It wasn't that expensive"
and "It was in the sale" taking second, third
and fourth position respectively.
Finally, the study suggested that
"I'm on my way" is the fifth top lie.
